We’ve covered a lot of ground this month!
I shared the lessons I’ve learned as I moved through my funk, navigated the discomfort of being in a liminal space, and turned to gratitude to help me along.
Practicing gratitude gives you certainty in times of uncertainty.
As my funk persisted – or as I labeled it – my ‘house guest’ wore out her welcome. I doubled down on my practice, focusing on the light in my life rather than the dark. I used gratitude to empower me to climb out of my funk and invite joy back in, all while cultivating joy in my daily experiences.
Practicing gratitude brings you joy.
Then I took an unusual step – I thanked my unwelcome guest for showing me how good my life actually is, and for allowing me to uplevel my ability to walk myself through a tough situation.
Practicing gratitude empowers you.
I also talked about how being in your head – and not being present to the love, joy and connection that’s right in front of you – can often lead to regret.
Practicing gratitude is the antidote to regret.
Whether or not you find yourself in a periodic funk like me, or you want to integrate more joy and presence into your life, practicing gratitude is your superpower for navigating through the transitions of this beautiful stage of life. Cultivating joy becomes easier when you anchor yourself in gratitude.
Monday Mindshift
It’s the 1° shift that makes the biggest difference over time.
Take a minute to reflect on how you solidified the practice of gratitude in your life this month. 🤔
Reflect on the times you were able to really be present with the little things. Think about how you felt. How did anchoring in gratitude impact your relationships and other areas of your life? How did it influence your sense of well-being? How did it affect the levels of joy in your life? Cultivating joy can be a natural byproduct of this practice.
Once you take stock of how gratitude has influenced your life, set an intention for how you’ll maintain that regular practice of gratitude going forward. What rituals and routines will you hang on to now that you’ve recognized the power of gratitude to anchor you in your life and invite in more joy?
