Your Magenta Monday Magic.
Last month, I got to spend a weekend with my sister and three of our lifelong friends who are sisters themselves. Although we haven’t all spent a lot of time together as adults, we’re fortunate to enjoy the warmth and familiarity that comes with a decades-long friendship.
At one point, I asked what the idea of bravery meant to each of them, a conversation that led to each of us identifying something we needed to take action on. This sparked a deeper discussion about personal growth and development activities—the kind that helps us step out of our comfort zones.
It led us to a vulnerable place where we each shared what it would mean to move forward in the areas we identified.
For two of us, it was about having a difficult conversation with a partner; for another, it was breaking down the overwhelm of a huge decluttering project; and for one it was about being a little more daring with how she showed up, so she could start standing out instead of blending into the background.
We wrapped up by identifying ONE small step we would each take in the next 30 days, and we each picked an accountability buddy to support us along the way. At the end of the 30 days, we planned to meet by Zoom to see how it had gone for each of us.
The thing about being brave and pushing your edges – is that it looks different for each of us.
Personal growth and development activities can be big or small, but each step forward is meaningful.
Our conversation was so great because no one sat in judgment of anyone else. We listened and respected what each person had to share. 🤝
Monday Mindshift
It’s the 1° shift that makes the biggest difference over time.
As you’re contemplating an area where you could be brave, remember not to compare or judge yourself for having an edge where others might not. Personal growth and development activities are unique to each individual, and your path forward may look different than everyone else’s. 🛤️
