I’m grateful for you!

Updated: Nov 28, 2022

Your Magenta Monday Magic.

‘Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance’. Eckhart Tolle

Hopefully by now I’ve made a strong case that gratitude can be quite the superpower when it comes to boosting your mental well-being.

Not only does practicing gratitude lift your spirits when times get rough, it also helps you move through difficult emotions and situations with more ease and grace - like when I had Covid and was devastated by my Dad’s sudden passing.

But did you know that the power of gratitude can actually have a direct impact on your physical health?

3 ways gratitude is good for your health…

  1. Stronger Resilience – studies show that positive emotions allow us to bounce back from stressful events and to find meaning in negative experiences most likely because of the moderation of your reaction to stressful situations like divorce or a death in the family. Thoughts of gratitude have been known to lower blood pressure and stronger immune system and reduce depressive symptoms by up to 35%.

  2. Increased Performance and Engagement – When you are feeling gratitude and joy at work, for example, and are able to handle stress with more ease, you are more likely to do a better job; therefore, have higher job satisfaction and pride in your work

  3. Reduced blood pressure. Patients with hypertension who “count their blessings” at least once a week experienced a significant decrease in blood pressure, resulting in better overall health (Shipon, 1977). Want a healthy heart? Count your blessings!

There is a lot of evidence showing that the more grateful a person is, the more likely they are to enjoy better physical health, (as well as psychological health) (Hill, Allemand, & Roberts, 2013).

Grateful people are healthy people!

Monday Mindshift

I have attached the Live BRIGHTer Blueprint for your use in diving deeper into developing your gratitude practice throughout this month and on your own. Use it to help get you back on track if you waiver off course.

Activity:

  1. Reflect on something that has happened to you recently. Did you automatically go to the negative? Or were you able to reframe in positive?

  2. Think of 3 things you are grateful for every night and write them down.

I’d love to hear about your breakthroughs and how practicing gratitude has helped you this month in our Thriving Collective Facebook Community!

Love Xoxo,
