It doesn’t happen overnight…but it does happen!

Your Magenta Monday Magic.

As with most worthwhile things, living a life of intention takes inspired dedication and a lot of practice.

It doesn’t just happen overnight.

Brené Brown hits the mark when she says,

“It’s not about ‘what can I accomplish’ but ‘what do I want to accomplish?’ Paradigm shift.”

The important thing is that you’re consciously bringing inspired thought and conscious awareness into your life and there is no wrong way to start doing that.

5 ways to live a life with intention:

  1. Identify what really matters most to you. What do you value? What do you feel would enhance your situation and how can you go about making that happen? What people or things do you perhaps need to let go of to create space for yourself?

  2. Identify what specific areas of your life need work.“When your intention is clear, so is the way.” — Alan Cohen. As you examine and reflect upon each piece of the pie, think about what you’re fulfilled with in that area of your life. Are there any areas that you feel are neglected compared to others? This can help you start to think of ways to become more balanced and pinpoint your forward focus.

  3. Declutter your space, unclutter your mind. Intention extends to the things you own as well. Take a look around. Are you holding onto things just because you’ve had them for a long time? Is there anything you can sell or donate? Sometimes decluttering can promote a positive energy shift and allow us to see other areas of our lives we need to trim back on a bit.

  4. Let go of anything that no longer serves you. Including the people around you who try to hold you back or suck your time and energy. Just knowing someone for a long time does not mean they are necessarily a good friend. Rule of thumb: If they don’t nourish your soul, let them go.

  5. Develop a relationship with your intuition. Built on trust. After all, you are the only one who truly knows what you want. Only you know what will make you happy and fulfilled. So, trust your instincts if they are leading you in a certain direction. Just go with that flow.

Activity:

  1. This week, wake up every day and choose your ‘word of intention’. ‘Today I choose Joy.’

  2. Journal about how that positively influenced you and take note of whether you noticed how your ‘word of intention’ impacted you throughout your day.

“Intention is more than wishful thinking—it’s willful direction.

It is a philosophy of the heart put into practice, a consistency of conscious patterns of thought, energy, and action. — Jennifer Williamson
