It’s time to Roar

Your Magenta Monday Magic.

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” -Maya Angelou

I’ve always admired those strong, outspoken women who express themselves fearlessly and without apology.

They don’t seem to care about what other people think.

Like fierce, wild lionesses, owning their voices proudly.

Roaring.

While I have definitely made progress over the years, there are still times when I feel like I am fearful of pissing people off.

Or saying the ‘wrong’ thing.

At times I feel more like the meek little mouse, whispering so that no one will hear me.

Especially in the early years when I first started doing this work.

When I started my coaching business I didn’t want to come across as too touchy-feely. Or “woo woo” because I thought people would judge me.

When I first started my Thriving Moms Collective FB group, with every post, I pictured the women in my community rolling their eyes and saying, ‘Wow. Really?’

I was silenced by the terror of what they might think of me.

I let that fear of being judged dilute my messaging. And take away my voice. I abdicated myself to this invisible group because I believed I would be rejected for who I truly was.

Can you relate?

But as I began to get more comfortable and confident in who I am and discovered my true voice, the negative opinions of others bothered me less and less.

All I could do was express myself authentically, and if people didn’t relate or didn’t like what I had to say?

Well, that’s okay!

You can never be all things to all people.

All you could do is be true to yourself and that takes learning to live from the Inside out, not the outside in.

Monday Mindshift

Think about a time when you held yourself back from saying something you really wanted to say. Is there a time you remember when you silenced your authentic self? How did it make you feel? What did you learn? How can you apply that the next time you are in a similar position?

This week, here, we rise up to ROAR!

Love Xoxo,
