Oops. I forgot this ONE tiny thing…

Your Magenta Monday Magic.

Last week we talked about how to get out of ‘pinball machine mode’.

Now that your kids are needing you in less demanding ways, it’s time to put the focus back on yourself!

Choosing to live with intention is a key component of this process.

When I was a young woman, I had a very clear vision of the correct “life recipe” I wanted and thought I knew then what that looked like for me.

So, I went to a good school, got a good job, met and married my husband, and had 2 great kids.

I had everything I’d ever thought I’d ever wanted, but I just wasn’t happy.

As much as I loved my family, I had a hole inside. An emptiness.

Why? Because even though I’d created everything I thought I’d wanted in my life, I’d forgotten one very important element during that process -how I wanted it to feel.

You are now entering a new chapter in your stage of life - one in which you’ll play the lead role.

You have this incredible opportunity to stop and think about what you want your life to look and feel like.

“When your intention is clear, so is the way.” - Alan Cohen

You have a choice - to simply let life happen to you or to take the lead role in creating a life you absolutely love.

Are you inspired to…

  • travel?

  • start your own business?

  • write a book?

  • find a partner?

  • make some wonderful new friends?

And how do you want that to feel?

Do you crave…

  • Joy?

  • Fulfillment?

  • Love?

  • Connection?

  • Creativity?

  • Flow?

  • Ease?

This week is about shifting toward making whatever goals you envision a reality.

Monday Mindshift

Visioning and Feeling Activity:

1) Begin by closing your eyes. Sit somewhere quiet and take 2 or 3 deep, cleansing, audible breaths. In through your nose…filling your lungs with a big sip of air…and release with a loud cleansing whoosh!

2) Envision what you want your life to look like 5 years from now.

  • Who’s with you?

  • What are you doing?

  • Where are you?

3) Now, pretend you are in that moment and imagine what that vision feels like as if it were happening today…right now - this is the critical piece!

Do you feel Joyful? Fulfilled? Connected? Loved? What do you see? What do you smell and taste? Imagine the warmth of a smooth hand in yours or the sound of the waves lapping against the hot, sandy, white beach. Can you feel the warmth of the sun on your face? Imagine the feeling of sand between your toes?

4) Finally, select one word to focus on that sums up your vision and the feeling.

Choose a word that transcends all areas of your life. Words like gratitude, freedom, flow, allow, connection, love, joy, abundance, and inspiration are such that they can apply to ANY area of your life - relationships, job, home, travel, health, etc. The key is to FEEL it.

I invite you to take 30 minutes of your reflection time to really focus on the words that resonate deep inside you.

And, at the end of the day, you are the only one who knows what you want and what will make you happy. Trust your instincts if they’re leading you in a certain direction.

One thing you will come to realize is that no matter what stories your mind has been telling up until now, your gut will always be (sometimes irritatingly) honest.

Love Xoxo,

PS. I’d love to hear what living with intention means to you! I invite you to share your thoughts and ideas with us in Thriving Mom’s Collective FB Group!
