What does being spiritual mean to you?

Your Magenta Monday Magic.

This week we are prioritizing your Spiritual Health!

Is it participating in organized religion? Serving others? Doing what you’re passionate about? Spending time with your kids, family, and friends? Or maybe you have an incredibly rewarding and fulfilling job?

While religion is one of the most common ways to nurture spirituality, I am not what you’d call ‘a religious person’; however, I do consider myself very spiritual.

I believe in a Higher Power, I just don’t think it looks a certain way.

In difficult times my inner faith has offered me comfort and helped me build resilience to things that were totally out of my control and over time I have cultivated a strong belief that everything happens for a reason.

It probably started with one of the most difficult times in my life - my sister’s untimely and unexpected death at the age of 31. Unable to rationalize it, I chose to believe that there was a reason that this happened, and even though I didn’t know what that was at the time, I had no choice but to trust that one day I would find clarity.

Another way, I have nurtured my spiritual health is by serving others - whether through Ripple Kids, the nonprofit organization I started, or by donating to a favorite cause, making a meal for a friend in need, or practicing meditation.

All of these make me feel more connected to a Higher Power and help me get out of my own head by serving others.

“Health is a state of body. Wellness is a state of being.”– J. Standord

So, this week is all about replenishing your spiritual cup.

Monday Mindshift

Activity: 30 minutes of reflection time on your Spiritual Health.

3 Ways To Use Reflection In Your Spiritual Journey

Commit to 30 minutes of quiet solitude to explore any or all of the following:

You can practice self-reflection in any number of ways: meditation, yoga, prayer, spending time in nature or journaling are all great tools for this exercise.

Afterward, identify an area in your spiritual health that needs a little TLC and choose 1 thing you can do to get started on to improve your Spiritual Health TODAY. Make that commitment to YOU.

I’d love to hear what you’ve come up with and invite you to share it in our Thriving Mom’s Collective Group. Remember your thoughts and ideas also support other moms to live Brighter!
